ABOUT ME

I grew up on the South Side of Chicago in a close knit family of teachers. An avid reader, I used to picture myself as an English or even Social Studies teacher. I never considered myself a musician until I entered beginning band in 7th grade. I loved the challenge of music and the satisfaction of creating something, both as an individual and as part of an ensemble. "Musicking" began to form a greater and greater part of my life, leading me to study it in college and pursue a professional career as a musician.

After high school, I attended the University of Michigan, where I double majored in French Horn Performance and Music Education and earned an academic minor in Law, Justice and Social Change. Along the way I became active in the university's Latinx community, diversity initiatives and as a student leader with the UM Center for Educational Outreach. Upon graduation, I completed my Master's in Horn Performance at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where I currently reside.

Today,  you can find me auditioning, gigging and playing chamber music with other Milwaukee freelancers and working at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, where I teach General Music and Band through the Conservatory Connections program, and private lessons to budding hornists. When I'm not playing or teaching, I love reading, attending concerts, staying up to date on current events, spending time with my family, playing Crash Bandicoot, and eating tacos.
